About: Matthew

Dr. Matthew Mitchell spent most of his life in Georgia where he was most recently Lead Pastor of Sugarloaf UMC. Matthew is the husband of Amber and father of four wonderful children.

Matthew was born in Denver, Colorado but grew up in Lilburn, GA where he attended Parkview High School. After high school, Matthew enrolled in LaGrange College in LaGrange, GA where he was the first four-year Letterman of the nationally ranked LaGrange College Men’s Golf Team. While at LaGrange, he earned a Bachelors in Business Administration with a management concentration and minor in Latin American Studies. For seminary, Matthew attended the Candler School of Theology at Emory University and finished up his schooling with a Doctorate of Ministry from Columbia Theological Seminary.

Rev. Randy Shrauner, Church of the Servant’s Executive Minister, was ordained an Elder in the United Methodist Church in 2008. Born and raised on his family’s farm and ranching operation in Southwest Kansas, Randy invested 20 years following his graduation from Oklahoma State University directing the business. Leaving the ranch behind, he entered Asbury Theological Seminary in the fall of 2001, earning a Master of Divinity in May of 2005. Rev. Shrauner is married, and the Shrauners have 4 grown children.

About: Robyn

Dr. Robyn Goggs is an associate minister serving here since 2010.   Robyn has a heart for people and lives out her calling through women’s ministry, missions and preaching.   She loves to laugh and live into the abundant life she believes God wants all to have.  Robyn believes the church is its best when we help people claim God’s message of love, hope, and grace for their own lives.

She is a native to Oklahoma City, attending Putnam City High School and Oklahoma City University earning a degree in world religions.  Her Masters of Divinity is from Perkins School of Theology.  She served three years in the British Methodist Church as a pastor in a two-point charge in West Yorkshire.   Arriving back in Oklahoma in 2003,  Robyn was a senior pastor in a rural congregation for seven years before coming back to Oklahoma City.   In May 2010, she graduated with a Doctorate in Ministry from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C.  Her area of study was pastoral theology, care and counseling with research in grief care in the local church.    Alongside her responsibilities on staff, Robyn has a passionate interest in the connecting of spirituality and mental health.  Robyn is married to John and they have three children: Noah, Daisy and Julia.

About: W. Stephen

Professor Stephen Gunter returned to ministry at Church of the Servant in September, 2017, as “Theologian in Residence” after more than 2 decades at Emory University and Duke Divinity School – where he served as Research Professor and Associate Dean for Methodist Studies. He has lectured and preached in more than 25 world areas, while remaining active in his annual conference as an ordained Methodist clergy. His most recent book, Arminius and His ‘Declaration of Sentiments’ (Baylor University Press) was recently translated into Portuguese this Summer, and Dr. Gunter conducted  a 12-day book tour in Brazil in August, 2017. About: Matt

Matt is an associate pastor at Church of the Servant, serving since 2018. Matt has a passion for finding new people in the community to engage in the local church. Matt is currently serving as a Path 1 Church Planting Resident and will be preparing to plant a new United Methodist Church in 2-3 years. Matt helps coordinate the modern worship services at Church of the Servant and also coordinates hospitality ministries.

Matt grew up in northeastern Oklahoma in Claremore and received a call to ministry as a senior at Claremore High School in 2010. After graduation, Matt began attending Oklahoma City University where he graduated in 2015 with a B.A. in Religion. While in college, Matt began vocational ministry. For four years from 2011-2015, he served at Acts 2 United Methodist Church in Edmond as a youth minister. Acts 2 was a church plant and Matt garnered valuable experience for recognizing healthy church patterns and developing effective evangelism. After graduating from Oklahoma City University, Matt desired to begin pastoral ministry, so he chose to stay in Oklahoma for Seminary. Matt was selected as a Fellow at St. Paul School of Theology, where he graduated with his Masters of Divinity degree in 2018. While in seminary, Matt served in his first appointment as a pastor at Nichols Hills United Methodist Church. In June 2018, Matt began his new appointment at Church of the Servant where he is excited to help grow Servant and prepare for a new church plant.

In his free time, Matt enjoys hiking, fishing and most things related to the outdoors. Matt has a personal goal of visiting all 59 national parks and has 47 left to go! Matt also enjoys being with his friends in Oklahoma City and enjoying all things pop culture including movies, TV and a plethora of video games.

About: Tim

Rev. Tim Travers was born and raised in Nebraska, the youngest of 6 children. He attended college at Nebraska Wesleyan University from 1985 to 1989, where he majored in Religion and had minors in Psychology and Sociology/Anthropology. Tim attended seminary from 1990 to 1993 at Iliff School of Theology in Denver, CO, where he earned his Master of Divinity degree. He served churches of various sizes in full-time ministry from 1993-2003 in the Nebraska Annual Conference. He then transferred to the Oklahoma Annual Conference in 2003. He served as the Minister of Congregational Development at Church of the Servant from 2003 to the fall of 2009. Tim is now serving as the Minister of Congregational Care. He is married, and they have 2 children.

Camilla Riley is a native Oklahoman, having lived in the eastern part of the state until her family moved to OKC in 1986. She is a lifelong Methodist (except for eight years as a member of a Quaker meeting) and joined Church of the Servant in the fall of 2008. Retired after a 43-year career in education, she enjoys needle crafts, puzzles of all types, documentary television and non-fiction reading. Camilla is proud to be the mother of two adult sons and grandmother to three lively grandchildren. She joined the Care Ministry team in July 2017, and loves waking up with purpose each day. Her favorite prayer is, "I thank you, God, that you are enough."

Chuck Weatherford is a seasoned choral director raised in Upper East Tennessee. He earned his Bachelor’s in Music Education from East Tennessee State University, finished with a master’s degree in conducting from New York University and continues to attend workshops and conferences. His love of music, and passion for teaching, has led him to lead the music ministries in several of the top 20 United Methodist churches including the Church of the Resurrection in Leawood, KS. He has traveled with his choirs to international destinations such as England, Wales, Mexico, and most recently to Italy with a performance at the Vatican, where great choral music has been sung for centuries. He has also lead his groups in performances at venues like Carnegie Hall and the National Cathedral. He enjoys spending any free time relaxing with his wife Pam, who works as the assistant to the Bishop of Oklahoma.

Sang was raised in Oklahoma City and graduated from Putnam City High School. His passion for student ministry began when he was a senior in high school, through his youth group. This is where he encountered and acknowledged God’s love for the first time. He truly believes High School Ministry can be a safe place for students to nurture their faith and find value in following Christ. His goal is for students and families to fall more in love with Christ and be a light in this world. Sang graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with a bachelor degree in Elementary Education. He loves photography, music, playing sports, having meaningful conversation over coffee, eating pho and Tana Thai, hanging out with his beautiful wife, watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, and saving the people of Gotham City.

Kourtney has worked in children and youth ministry for over ten years and has enjoyed watching children and teenagers grow in their faith and come to know Jesus in a more real and personal way. She graduated with a business degree from Oklahoma State University, then earned a master’s of education degree from the University of Oklahoma. Kourtney has been married to her husband, Ryan, since 2002, and they have two sons, Noah and Nathan. She enjoys reading, traveling, spending time with her family, and playing tennis. Kourtney wants all children to know how much Jesus loves them and to see how God works in their lives and in the lives of those around them. She wants children to know God’s love and share it with others.
