Our Music Ministry offers many opportunities for adults to be involved. Please consider using your talents and gifts. There is something for everybody! To learn more about any of the programs below, email Chuck Weatherford or call him at (405)721-4141.
The Celebration Choir anchors our 9:30 a.m. blended service of worship. We sing a wide variety of music and styles, from classical to hymns to spirituals to show tunes to brand new contemporary anthems. This group also prepares music for special services at Christmas and Easter. The Choir is a non-audition group in the belief that all of God’s children have a song, and is open to high school age and up. The Choir meets each Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in the Choir Rehearsal Hall downstairs. Childcare is provided. The choir might look full, but we always have room for more!
The Worship Orchestra meets each Wednesday at 6:15 p.m. in Celebration Center and is open to high school age and up. Like the Choir, the orchestra plays most Sundays and anchors the musical leadership in our 9:30 a.m. service. The orchestra is primarily a volunteer group made up of many skill levels and ages. They join with the Choir for major works and many anthems throughout the season and also play many wonderful “stand alone” pieces during the 9:30 service. No audition required. Childcare is provided.
Synergy (Ensemble Group)
Synergy meets on an on-call basis and sings regularly in the 9:30 service. This is an audition group, with auditions held as openings arise. The ensemble sings more contemporary music and A Capella music.
The Celebration Ringers meets each Thursday at 5:30 p.m. in the bell room, located just off the main rehearsal hall downstairs. This is an advanced bell choir; basic music skills are a must for membership in this group. Childcare can be provided.
Servant Jazz Ensemble
The Servant Jazz Ensemble plays the fifth Sunday of each quarter. This group is made up of musicians from the orchestra. The music is hot and the fellowship is wonderful. Open to high school age and up.
